Patna, Dec 12 (LatestNewsX) – Tej Pratap Yadav, founder of the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) and a fresh face in the Bihar Assembly race, shows no signs of despair after the party’s recent loss. Speaking to reporters in Patna, he revealed that JJD will contest the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. “My party will field candidates in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and will also participate in the West Bengal Assembly polls. The opposition in Bihar is weak, so I will raise public issues strongly and will soon begin a state‑wide tour to listen to people’s problems,” Yadav told media persons in Patna on Friday. Despite the setback, the former minister and now party patron insists he is emerging with renewed political vigor, adding, “Winning and losing are part of democracy. I am not discouraged. I am more active in politics than before.” He outlined plans for a broader reach, noting that JJD is extending its organisational footprint beyond Bihar into several other states. A membership drive is underway, and he is personally travelling to recruit new members, while a recent ceremony saw him induct his state president, underscoring a reinvigoration at the grassroots level. Yadav also mentioned that several leaders from rival parties are joining forces with the new outfit, and that the party has now appointed a national spokesperson in Delhi—a university professor—marking a significant step in its national expansion. During the interview, he briefly criticized his brother and former Deputy Chief Minister, Tejashwi Yadav, remarking, “Some people have become stagnant after losing elections, but I remain active and am working to strengthen the organisation.” He also called on the government to provide alternate housing before demolishing the homes of the poor, particularly during winter, and concluded that while many party leaders have fallen silent, his own party remains engaged with the public and will keep doing so.
