LA do-gooder claims he collected 100K pounds of trash from streets — blames city for slow collection: ‘Just do your job’

What a load of rubbish!

A former worker who left his day job to collect needles, human feces and other litter from Los Angeles streets says he’s gathered about 100,000 pounds of garbage, while blaming the city for allowing those steamy piles to remain unattended for too long.

“Why do I have to chase them, when I already put it in the bags?” Juan Naula fumed to The Post.

Naula, 47, launched his cleanup initiative just over a year ago, yet he’s facing problems with the city’s pickup service—he says it can take several weeks for crews to clear his bags after he contacts 311.

“One time it was three weeks, its frustrating because the homeless get into the bags,” Juan explained.

“What did they have in their mind? Its not ok. Nobody deserves to live like this. Just do your job.”

Because the collections can include sharp items and human feces, leaving the trash for extended periods poses a danger to the public.

Naula had originally moved to LA from Virginia to secure funding for his tech startup, but when he spotted the state of MacArthur Park one day, he decided to switch gears and focus on cleaning instead.

A spokesperson for Mayor Karen Bass said LA “will be reviewing 311 requests to ensure City services are being delivered,” in a statement to Fox 11.

“Residents like Juan represent the very best of Los Angeles — people who step up to care for their neighborhoods and our city. We thank Juan for taking initiative and helping create a City we can all be proud of. The Mayor’s Office will be reaching out to him,” the spokesperson said.

After Naula shared his work on social media, the public has taken notice.

He has 60,000 followers on Instagram and claims to have hundreds of volunteers helping his cause.

Next up, he’s looking to set a new record.

“I’m going to try to get a Guinness record next year. 300 bags in a month.”
