Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor share their work experience in ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’

Bollywood favorites Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor recently shared exciting details about their upcoming comedy “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,” chatting with about their characters and hilarious behind-the-scenes moments.
Varun Dhawan plays the lead role of Sunny Sanskari, and he teased that while the name sounds super traditional, fans will have to watch the film to see just how “sanskari” – or cultured – his character really gets. “Naam to hai Sunny Sanskari, but kaam ye kitne sankari karta hai vo dekhna hoga film mein,” Varun said with a grin.
Janhvi Kapoor brings a quirky twist to her role as a school teacher who’s far from ordinary. She described her character as “thoda atrangi” – a bit eccentric – who gets stirred up by Sunny’s antics in love and fights. “In that fight, vo khul jaati hai, she opens up and comes closer to herself,” Janhvi explained. “It’s a very interesting character that lets her shine.”
The duo couldn’t stop laughing as they recalled fun times on set, especially during a big scene in a garden shot in Panwadi and Bijuria. The cast, including Maniesh Paul, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, and everyone else, had so much chemistry that they kept cracking up during takes. Varun shared, “We were all so happy with our acting that we used to laugh in between. Aur Janhvi ki ebbing baar hansi chhut jaaye to fir vo chalti rehti thi jab tak Shashank daant na de.” Director Shashank Khaitan had to scold them like kids to keep things moving, but Varun called it his favorite scene. “The whole cast has a lot of fun when they’re together,” he added.
The film’s trailer, dropped earlier by the makers, sets up a wild, laugh-out-loud story. It kicks off with Varun proposing to Sanya Malhotra, only for her to turn him down. Heartbroken, Varun teams up with Janhvi to win back their exes after Sanya announces her wedding to Rohit Saraf – Janhvi’s former boyfriend. To spark jealousy and crash the wedding, Varun and Janhvi fake a romance, but things spiral when real feelings start to bloom between them.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, known for hits like “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania,” “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” promises a hilarious ride and hits theaters on October 2, 2025. Fans of Bollywood rom-coms with stars like Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor won’t want to miss this one.
