Delhi Speaker highlights RSS’s 100-year journey of service, discipline

New Delhi, Dec 11 – Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta took the floor at a ceremony celebrating “100 Years of the Sangh” held at the Samvet Sabha Hall of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts. He underscored the RSS’s long‑standing pledge to foster unity and nation‑building, noting that a century of activity shows that true progress starts with personal awareness, strong family bonds, social harmony and a shared sense of duty.

Speaking about the RSS, which was founded on September 27 1925 in Nagpur by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, Gupta remarked that over the past hundred years the organization has built a disciplined, service‑oriented and culturally conscious movement. The speaker lauded the Sangh’s milestones in lifting individuals, society and the nation, highlighting that today it stands as the world’s largest and most distinctive volunteer group—a testament to sacrifice, perseverance, self‑less service and unwavering discipline.

Gupta added that the RSS’s global reach stems from Hedgewar’s original resolve and the relentless dedication of thousands of swayamsevaks who have embraced national service as a guiding principle. He thanked attendees such as Indresh Kumar, senior national executive member of the RSS; Arvind Bhalchandra Mardikar, Chairman of the Hindusthan Samachar Cooperative Society; Ram Bahadur Rai, senior journalist and President of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts; and Bharatarshbh Das, Vice Chairman of ISKCON Bengaluru.

Reflecting on the organization’s founding day on Vijayadashami 1925, Gupta stated that the Sangh’s mission has always been to steer India’s culture, society and nation toward strength and awakening. From the freedom struggle to the present, the RSS has consistently bolstered patriotism, social unity, and national consciousness, steadfastly supporting the country through every challenge, crisis and rebuild.

He described the hundred‑year journey not merely as the story of an organization, but as a narrative of national resurgence, cultural reassertion, and disciplined nation‑building. The speaker explained that the Sangh has played a vital role in rekindling social and cultural awareness, reinforcing India’s civilizational ethos. Its efforts aim to forge individuals of character, nurture social harmony, engender a duty mindset and promote patriotism, emphasizing that its impact extends beyond organizational growth to shaping society and steering national consciousness in a positive direction.

Referring to Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat’s call for “Panch Parivartan,” Gupta outlined a transformational blueprint for India’s renewal—encompassing self‑realisation, civic duty, environmental stewardship, social harmony and family awakening.
