Uttar Pradesh’s villages are turning dreams into reality, thanks to eight years of steady progress under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In a lively virtual chat during the Viksit UP@2047 dialogue series, village heads—known as Gram Pradhans—opened up about how their communities are buzzing with change, from women’s empowerment to modern facilities.
Take Shivkumar Rajbhar from Tadwa Mahant Gram Panchayat in Shrawasti district’s Ikauna block. He beamed as he described how the whole village has jumped on board with the chief minister’s campaigns. “He’s even visiting us tomorrow,” Shivkumar said, sparking excitement in every household.
Over in Kaushambi district, Seema Nirmal from Ukhaiya Khas Gram Panchayat in Manjhanpur block spotlighted the game-changing role of self-help groups. These groups are lifting women up economically, and Seema runs the panchayat meetings herself. She praised BC Sakhis—banking correspondents—who hustle daily to bring financial power to rural women across Uttar Pradesh.
In Bareilly’s Bithri Chainpur block, Pravesh from Bhartaul Gram Panchayat shared a proud milestone: her village kicked off with the district’s first model ration shop. Now, Bhartaul stands as a shining example of a model village, where women chase self-reliance through bold initiatives.
Gajendra Singh, heading Talesara Gram Panchayat in Aligarh’s Gonda block, dove into his village’s rich history. It ties back to 13 freedom fighters, and locals have built memorials like a stadium and Amrit Sarovar to honor them. On the modern side, the village boasts a Gram Sachivalaya office, a banquet hall, and smart classrooms that are transforming local schools.
Reena Pandey from Sanaha Gram Panchayat in Ayodhya’s Sohawal block stressed how her team rolls out every scheme from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She gave a shoutout to their waste disposal system, calling it a strong step toward a developed Uttar Pradesh.
Devidayal Singh of Duredi Gram Panchayat in Banda district’s Badokhar Khurd block couldn’t hide his pride. His panchayat snagged ₹36 lakh through the Chief Minister Panchayat Award Scheme. He broke down the keys to Uttar Pradesh’s growth: economic strength, vitality, and creativity. Plus, all eight schools in his area now run smart classrooms.
Jai Prakash from Bhawal Khera Gram Panchayat in Shahjahanpur district revealed his village has won the Chief Minister Panchayat Incentive Award twice. Self-help groups there are boosting the local economy, and he thanked Finance Minister Suresh Khanna for pushing village development forward.
Finally, Bhukan Lal from Koyla Gram Panchayat in Rampur’s Chamraon block talked about serving 7,700 people by getting development schemes to every door. His village hums with essentials: a primary health center, inter-college, bank, post office, and library. They even have a smooth waste collection and disposal setup keeping things clean.
These stories show Uttar Pradesh villages leading the charge in self-reliance, cleanliness, education, and women empowerment. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath cheered on the Gram Pradhans for their hands-on drive, saying it fuels the big goal of a Viksit Uttar Pradesh by 2047.
