Reese Witherspoon said her long‑standing friendship with Jennifer Aniston is a rare, supportive bond that has lasted more than two decades. The Hollywood actress told the Armchair Expert podcast hosted by Dax Shepard that Aniston “has always been nurturing, warm and friendly,” and she’s “not holding onto stuff.”
Witherspoon revealed that the two stars are very different. “I’m more nerdy,” she said, adding that her own edge has softened over time. “She’s always been lovely, gentle, and kind—she’s faced her own drama, but she remains positive.”
The actress admitted she once cried while defending Aniston in an interview. “People can be unfair and make assumptions,” Witherspoon said. “Aniston is more than the headline image people see.”
When Shepard asked if Aniston still thinks about ex‑husband Brad Pitt, Witherspoon replied, “No. She’s doing great.” She praised Aniston, who turned 50 in February 2019, for her “high‑spiritual integrity.” Aniston’s 50th‑birthday celebration in Los Angeles was attended by Brad Pitt and former partner Justin Theroux.
More recently, Aniston has been romantic with her boyfriend Jim Curtis. She announced the relationship in July by posting a black‑and‑white photo of the couple and wishing Curtis a happy birthday. “Happy birthday my love, cherished,” she wrote on Instagram.
