Chirag Paswan Gives Update on Bihar Assembly Elections Seat-Sharing
In Patna, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan shared good news for Bihar politics fans. He announced that the NDA alliance’s seat-sharing deal for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections will wrap up very soon. Speaking to reporters in Hajipur, Paswan assured everyone that things are smooth within the NDA partners.
Paswan explained the hold-up: the recent Vice Presidential election kept leaders busy. "Now that the new Vice President has taken charge, we’ll finalize the Bihar election seat-sharing in no time," he said confidently.
He also addressed demands from allies, like Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi, who wants 20 seats. Paswan called it normal politics. "As elections near, parties push for more to build their case. Manjhi is a Union Minister, and his son serves in the Bihar government. We’re all key NDA members, so we’ll sort this out together soon," he added.
Earlier, Paswan’s brother-in-law and Jamui MP Arun Bharti hinted that LJP (Ram Vilas) aims for a solid share—between 43 and 137 seats. For context, the party fought 43 seats in the 2015 Bihar polls and 137 in 2020. This shows their growing ambitions in Bihar politics.
Shifting gears, Paswan wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi a happy 75th birthday and praised the launch of the Swasth Mahila Abhiyan. "This is a joyful day for India. PM Modi’s initiative for women’s health hits close to home for me. In my family, my mother takes care of everyone—if she’s healthy, we all are," he shared personally.
The Swasth Mahila Abhiyan, kicked off on Modi’s birthday, will run until Dussehra. It focuses on women’s health check-ups at block-level camps, tackling everything from small issues to serious ones like cancer. "The goal is simple: catch minor problems early before they worsen due to lack of awareness. Timely detection means better treatment," Paswan emphasized.
