Mario Lopez, the popular actor and TV host known from shows like Saved by the Bell and Access Hollywood, is stepping up to host the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards. The big event hits the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California on October 17, bringing glitz and glamour to celebrate the best in daytime TV.
This exciting gig comes from a special partnership between the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and Access Hollywood, where Lopez already shines as a co-host. Starting October 13, Access Hollywood will air five nights of special Daytime Emmys previews to build the buzz. After the show, tune in on October 20 for a full recap packed with red carpet highlights, winner interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage.
NATAS President and CEO Adam Sharp couldn’t hide his excitement. "We’re thrilled to team up with Access Hollywood and have Mario Lopez host this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards," Sharp said. "As a daytime TV favorite, Mario delivers the perfect mix of energy, charm, and star power to light up the stage."
In other big news, NATAS revealed its Gold and Silver Circle honorees on Wednesday. These are top TV pros who’ve made a huge impact—think 50 years for Gold or 25 for Silver—with outstanding work in achievement, mentoring, and leadership. They truly represent the cream of the crop in the television industry.
For the first time since 2018, fans can snag a limited number of tickets to attend the Daytime Emmy Awards in person. Sharp added, "We’re honored to spotlight this year’s Gold and Silver Circle honorees, whose talent and dedication have shaped daytime TV. Plus, after years of fan requests, we’re opening the doors for an in-person audience—it’s going to be electric!"
