Mumbai: Indian actor R Madhavan is currently shooting the long‑awaited biopic of Gopalaswamy Doraiswamy Naidu, the technical designer who helped transform industry in India. While filming the final overseas schedule, Madhavan shared a behind‑the‑scenes glimpse on his Instagram.
He posted a clip of himself arriving at the set on a cutting‑edge Honda Goldwing Sports touring bike. When he paused, the “3 Idiots” star laughed and remarked, “Best way to come to the shoot for a film on G. D Naidu sir. What do you think?” before riding off. In the post he added the hashtags and emojis, “#GDN .. LAST SCHEDULE ABROAD (sic) ‑ (hug, red heart, and praying hands emojis).”
Earlier in October, the production team released the film’s first‑look teaser. The clip shows Madhavan embodying Naidu, initially silhouetted behind a welding shield, then revealing an older, dignified face with glasses as the “Edison of India.” He later shared a photo‑sharing‑app post proclaiming, “The spirit of G.D.NAIDU is now officially unveiled. A story of unmatched vision, towering ambition, and unwavering resolve. We proudly present the First Look Teaser of G.D.N. (sic).”
“G.D.N.” follows the life of the self‑taught engineer, inventor, and industrialist who pioneered India’s first indigenous electric motor, as well as petrol engines, ticket machines, and agricultural gear. The film is directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and produced by Varghese Moolan Pictures in partnership with Tricolour Films. The principal cast features Priyamani, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu, among others.
