PM Modi to focus on modernisation at armed forces commanders’ meet in Kolkata on Sep 15

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to kick off a major discussion on boosting the integration of India’s Armed Forces and embracing cutting-edge technology at the Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) 2025. This key event will happen in Kolkata, with PM Modi inaugurating it on September 15.

The two-day gathering, running from September 15 to 17, will focus on making the Armed Forces even stronger. In today’s tricky geo-strategic world, the military needs to stay agile and quick to act. An official from the Defence Ministry shared these details, highlighting how the conference aims to drive real change.

This year’s theme, ‘Year of Reforms – Transforming for the Future,’ puts the spotlight on military reforms, transformation, change, and operational preparedness. It’s all about pushing forward with institutional reforms, deeper integration among the forces, and technological modernisation to keep multi-domain readiness at top levels.

The CCC serves as the highest brainstorming platform for India’s defence setup. It brings together top civil and military leaders to share ideas on strategic and conceptual levels. Expect lively exchanges that shape the future of national security.

Joining PM Modi at the conference will be big names like Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the Minister of State for Defence, Chief of Defence Staff, and Defence Secretary. Secretaries from other ministries, along with officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Integrated Defence Staff, will also attend.

To keep things inclusive, the event includes interactive sessions with officers and personnel from all ranks in the Armed Forces. This way, insights from the field level up the high-level talks, making sure everyone’s voice counts.

Earlier, Rajnath Singh praised PM Modi for the successful Operation Sindoor. He called it a shining example of the bravery shown by India’s Armed Forces, along with the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Singh highlighted how the military has quickly adopted homegrown equipment from young innovators and Indian industries, boosting national pride in self-reliance and innovation.
