Taylor Swift hand-picked her engagement ring designer: Travis Kelce ‘was paying attention to everything’
Taylor Swift couldn’t hide her excitement as she flashed her stunning engagement ring during a Friday morning chat on the “Heart Breakfast” radio show. The pop icon shared how she planted the idea for the ring with fiancé Travis Kelce way back—a year and a half ago, just six months into their romance.
“You wanna see?” Swift teased hosts Emma Bunton and Jamie Theakston, holding up the sparkling old mine brilliant-cut diamond. “He designed it with this amazing jeweler—Kindred Lubeck is her name. She does all of her gold engraving by hand.” Swift instantly recognized Lubeck’s signature style when Kelce proposed, gasping, “I know who made that!”
Kelce teamed up with Lubeck from Artifex Fine to craft the one-of-a-kind piece, as first reported by Page Six in August. Swift gushed about her husband’s-to-be attention to detail, saying it showed he truly gets her. “I didn’t know what I would want, but he did somehow, and that’s kind of a flex,” she added with a laugh.
The couple, both 35, started dating in the summer of 2023 and went public that September when Swift cheered Kelce on at a Kansas City Chiefs game. Now, she’s buzzing about her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and stopped by the show to promote it. But talk quickly turned to wedding planning.
Swift admitted she never daydreamed about her big day until meeting Kelce. “You would think that I would have been the type of person who would have obsessed over the idea of a wedding my whole life, but I actually never thought about what I would ever do or what I would want until I met the person,” the Grammy winner said. The ring design? “It was like, ‘You really know me.'”
For the interview, Swift rocked a cozy pumpkin orange cashmere Saint Laurent sweater—perfect for her “Showgirl” era vibes—paired with a plaid ALC Conan wool skirt. She added some bling with a Chanel CC pendant necklace, plus Cartier’s Santos Demoiselle watch and Love bracelet.
The visit also turned into a fun throwback for Swift, who fangirled over Bunton, the former Baby Spice from the Spice Girls. “It’s so crazy to actually get to be in the same room with you because I had your doll, the Baby Spice doll, and it was my favorite one,” she shared. “We would all fight over who got to be you amongst the girls that were blond.”
