Jaipur – The Anta Assembly by‑election is set for Tuesday, November 11. Voting will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. across 268 polling booths. In total, 228,264 voters can head to the polls, including 116,783 men, 111,477 women and four voters who identify as “others.”
Rajasthan’s Chief Electoral Officer, Naveen Mahajan, spoke to polling staff on Monday, urging them to work with confidence, coordination and efficiency. “We must deliver a free and fair election,” he said. He told officers to conduct mock polls, review all arrangements, and immediately report any problems to the Sector Magistrate or the Assistant Returning Officer so issues can be fixed right away.
Training sessions gave every polling team the essential tools: electronic voting machines (EVMs), VVPATs, ballot sheets, and candidate photographs for quick identification. Vehicles were supplied from appointed counters, and staff departed only after passing checkpoints and receiving proper checks.
Mahajan appealed to all voters to aim for 100 percent turnout. “Voting is a civic duty and the bedrock of democracy,” he added. He highlighted the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, which pushes awareness campaigns across the region.
The Election Commission has arranged a full security package. 3,077 police officers, including Central Armed Police Force units, guard the sensitive polling stations. Quick Response Teams, mobile units, sector magistrates, and supervisory officers cover the districts. Additional checkpoints monitor traffic between districts and states.
All polling sites broadcast live through webcasts, with control rooms at the district headquarters and the Returning Officer’s office monitoring the day 24/7. Each booth keeps mobile phones safe in jute bags and hosts two volunteers for assistance. Facilities for voters with disabilities—wheelchairs, cradles for children, and accessibility devices—are ready. Ramps, drinking water, and shaded areas help everyone vote comfortably.
The new ballots feature clear photos of candidates, making it easier for voters to pick their choice. Five eco‑friendly polling stations—at Mahatma Gandhi Government Schools in Ratadiya, Sorsan, NTPC Road (Anta) and Siswali, plus Madrasa Anjuman Islamia Umavi in Mangrol—will not use single‑use plastics.
Staff mix at every booth includes women and persons with disabilities to promote inclusivity. Kais chief composed 1,240 people to watch the balloting: 268 polling teams, 29 reserve teams, 41 micro‑observers and 52 videographers. Women voters will have separate queues, with Anganwadi and ASHA workers ready to help.
In addition to voter IDs, the election office will accept 12 other forms of ID, easing the way for anyone ready to cast a vote. The Anta by‑election promises a smooth, transparent, and welcoming experience for all Jaipur voters this Tuesday.
