Vishal Jethwa Thrilled as ‘Homebound’ Heads to Toronto Film Festival After Cannes Success

Mumbai, Sep 10: Actor Vishal Jethwa is buzzing with excitement as his latest film Homebound gears up for its big screening at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The movie already wowed audiences at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, and now it’s ready to charm global viewers in Toronto. Vishal, who plays a key role alongside Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor, can’t stop talking about the thrill of this international spotlight.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan, Homebound comes from the powerhouse production house Dharma Productions. The story follows two childhood friends from a small village in North India who dream big about becoming police officers. They hope the job will finally bring them the respect they never had growing up. But as they get closer to their goal, mounting pressure and real-life struggles start testing their unbreakable bond, leading to some intense drama.
Vishal Jethwa has come a long way in his acting career, and fans love watching his journey in Bollywood and beyond. He kicked things off in 2013 with the lead role of Akbar in the TV show Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. In 2015, he stepped into the shoes of Bali Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman, captivating TV audiences.
The next year brought more exciting roles – he played the terrorist Chota Packet in Diya Aur Baati Hum and Nasir in Peshwa Bajirao. Vishal made his Bollywood debut in 2019 as the chilling villain in Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 2, proving he could hold his own on the big screen. In 2022, he turned heads in the gripping medical thriller series Human, sharing the screen with stars like Shefali Shah and Kirti Kulhari.
Fast-forward to 2023, and Vishal shone in Salaam Venky alongside Revathi and Kajol, with a stellar cast including Rajeev Khandelwal, Rahul Bose, Prakash Raj, and Aahana Kumra. That same year, he featured in Vidyut Jammwal’s action-packed IB71 and played the intriguing Hassan Ali in Salman Khan’s Tiger 3. His most recent gig? A lead role opposite Avneet Kaur in the murder mystery Party Till I Die, which dropped in December 2024.
