Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini celebrated the spirit of Vijayadashami on Tuesday, highlighting how the festival marks the victory of good over evil. Speaking at the Ravan Dahan event in Panchkula, he urged people to embrace the timeless ideals of Lord Ram, a figure who embodies the best of human values.
Saini pointed out that Lord Ram’s life offers powerful lessons in truth, honesty, equality, compassion, and selfless service. These principles feel especially important today, he added, as our fast-paced, materialistic world often erodes human kindness and sensitivity.
During the Dussehra festivities, which draw huge crowds in Haryana and across India, the chief minister extended warm greetings to the state’s residents. He shared that Vijayadashami promotes love, brotherhood, and spiritual growth in society. To support the event, Saini congratulated the organizers from the Mata Mansa Devi Charitable Trust and announced a grant of Rs 11 lakh from his discretionary fund.
He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to build a Ram Rajya—a vision of just and prosperous governance inspired by Lord Ram’s rule. The chief minister wrapped up by honoring the artists who brought the celebration to life.
The event underscores the cultural significance of Dussehra, a key Hindu festival symbolizing righteousness and renewal. ()
