India beat Pakistan to continue unbeaten run in Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind

Cricket for the blind made headlines after the star‑filled Women’s T20 World Cup match on Day 6, where India and Pakistan wowed crowds at the BOI Grounds in Colombo.

Both sides were chasing glory—India had already locked in a semifinal spot after four straight wins, while Pakistan, on only its second outing, had smashed Sri Lanka for 200+ runs to come in confident and eager for a bragging‑rights victory.

Pakistan posted 135 / 8. The game turned early when the top‑order collapsed to 23 / 4 inside six overs. Mehreen Ali (B‑3) steadied the charge with 66 off 57, anchoring the innings. A brief cameo from Esha Faisal (6) bought breath before Bushra Ashraf (B‑3) spun a 44‑ball 44, keeping the score ticking along. Indian bowlers disciplined and fielders precise, their 7 run‑outs—each a testament to sharp awareness—kept Pakistan’s rhythm in tatters. Pakistan’s extras added 15, but the total depended almost entirely on Ali and Ashraf.

India’s bowlers made a clean start: Phula Saren snapped early wickets, Anu Kumari held down the middle overs, and Ganga Kadam kept pressure high. However, it was the Indian outfield that truly slammed the match. Nail‑pointed runs, intense pressure, and giant throws turned the game long and hard in India’s favor.

In the chase, India burst ahead. Deepika TC slashed a scorching 45 off 21 balls, a strike rate of 214, and set the tone before a run‑out stopped her. Tenaciously, Anekha Devi finished without a duck, building 64 off 34 balls, a strike rate of 188, and so far the match‐winning hit‑to‑hit performance. The Indian bowling lineup struggled to stop the run gauge, and 12 extras eased the win. The victory kept India unbeaten and reinforced their campaign.

Anekha Devi earned Player of the Match for her dominant innings.

Ahead of the next league showdown, Sri Lanka vs. Australia will decide critical semifinal slots. The Women’s T20 World Cup is heating up—stay tuned for more action.
