Chhattisgarh secures Rs 33,000 crore investment proposals in Ahmedabad; to generate over 10,000 jobs

Ahmedabad, Nov 11 – At a recent Investor Connect event in Ahmedabad, Chhattisgarh is already showing why it’s becoming a hot spot for Indian investors. The state received fresh proposals worth almost ₹33 000 crore and eyes more than 10,500 new jobs across a variety of sectors.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hand‑delivered investment letters to big‑name firms in thermal power, green steel, solar cells, pharmaceuticals, and medical food supplements. Speaking to business leaders, Sai said Gujarat’s industry edge and Chhattisgarh’s natural resources together will help build a developed India.
“Gujarat is driving the national economy, and Chhattisgarh is following close behind. We have abundant energy, minerals, skilled labor, and policies that welcome investors,” he added.
The state government has rolled out more than 350 business‑friendly reforms in the last 22 months. A single‑window system now speeds approvals, and investors can grab extra incentives for setting up shops in tribal areas like Bastar and Surguja. Sai highlighted that the state has already received over ₹7.5 lakh crore in proposals and that its position as India’s second‑largest coal producer helped bring in ₹3.5 lakh crore during the recent Energy Summit.
Naya Raipur is on the rise as an IT and AI data‑centre hub, drawing strong interest from semiconductor and electronics firms. Meanwhile, tourism has been granted industry status, opening new doors for hospitality and wellness businesses.
The crowd included top officials such as Chief Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh, Industries Secretary Rajat Kumar, and CSIDC Managing Director Vishwesh Kumar. A few standout commitments were announced:
* Torrent Power Ltd. plans a ₹22,900‑crore, 1,600‑MW thermal power plant in Ahmedabad, expected to create 5,000 jobs.
* Onix Three Anersol Private Ltd. will invest ₹9,000 crore in green hydrogen, ammonia, and steel projects, generating 4,082 jobs.
With these high‑value projects and a clear push for inclusive growth, Chhattisgarh is sharpening its image as a key player in India’s next wave of industrial and green expansion.
