Sunil Bharti Mittal, the founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises, has nothing but praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tech-savvy vision. On the eve of PM Modi’s 75th birthday, Mittal shared how Modi’s forward-thinking approach uses technology to drive inclusive growth across India.
Mittal recalled a memorable moment during Modi’s UK visit. PM Narendra Modi has this amazing knack for listening to industry leaders and quickly turning their ideas into action for the country’s benefit,” he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Bharti Airtel. This is part of the ongoing ‘My Modi Story’ campaign, where people share personal tales about the Prime Minister’s impact.
One standout example? Modi’s trip to Japan. There, he promised a single-window clearance system right in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for Japanese investors. “This bold move completely shifted how they viewed investing in India,” Mittal noted. Back in September 2014, while speaking to top business leaders from Japan and India in Tokyo, PM Modi highlighted how India was revamping rules and laws to speed up progress.
Modi has always made good governance his top priority. He believes single-window clearances are key to easing business hurdles, simplifying red tape, speeding up approvals, and embracing technology. “This isn’t something new from PM Modi,” Mittal added. Even as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Modi led the way by linking every village panchayat with VSAT technology—a groundbreaking project that connected rural areas like never before. It showed his real dedication to tech-driven development for everyone.
