Anil Kapoor celebrates 14 years of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol: ‘To stories that become family’
Mumbai, Dec 7 (LatestNewsX) – Anil Kapoor marked the 14‑year anniversary of his Hollywood film “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” with a heartfelt message on Instagram.
In his post, the “Mr India” star reflected on how the project had become almost family to him, saying: “Some films stay with you forever, not just because they’re part of a legendary franchise or a global success, but because of the bonds you build along the way. (Dizzy emoji) (sic).”
He thanked the talented crew and the fans worldwide, adding: “14 years of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, a journey filled with laughter, trust, unforgettable memories, and friendships that still mean the world. Forever grateful for the experience, the incredible team, the moments behind the scenes, and all the love from fans around the world. (Black heart emoji).”
Coupled with a few photos of Kapoor posed beside Tom Cruise and the rest of the “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” crew, he concluded, “Here’s to stories that become family and adventures that never fade. #MissionImpossible #ghostprotocol.”
The film, directed by Brad Bird, follows “Mission: Impossible III” (2006) as the fourth entry in the famed series. It was produced by Tom Cruise, J. J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk under Paramount Pictures, Skydance Productions, Bad Robot, and TC Productions. The cast features Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and Paula Patton in leading roles, with Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Josh Holloway, Anil Kapoor, and Léa Seydoux appearing in supporting parts.
In the storyline, the Impossible Missions Force is disbanded after a Kremlin bombing implicates them, prompting Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his team to clear their name. Kapoor plays Brij Nath, a Mumbai media mogul who controls satellite codes that could trigger missiles, making him a key obstacle to Hunt’s mission.
