Red Fort blast: Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, others express condolences

At least ten people died and more than a dozen were injured in a car blast near Delhi’s historic Red Fort. The explosion rattled the capital and sparked a flood of condolences from top Indian leaders.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh posted on X that the blast was “extremely painful and disturbing.” He offered heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families and prayed for the quick recovery of the wounded. The BJP’s national president JP Nadda echoed the sentiment, stressing that “all necessary medical assistance reaches the injured.”

Union minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal described the event as “heartbreaking” and sent his heartfelt condolences, while Union minister Nitin Gadkari called the incident “deeply tragic and distressing.” Both ministers wished the victims’ families strength and the injured swift healing.

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also posted supportive messages. Fadnavis said the explosion was “heart‑wrack‑ing” and that he prayed for peace for the departed and recovery for the wounded.

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh wrote on X that the news of civilian casualties was “extremely heartbreaking,” offering prayers for those who suffered. Union ministers Sarbananda Sonowal, former minister Anurag Thakur, and Jyotiraditya M. Scindia all voiced their grief and vowed support for affected families.

The explosion, which occurred near the Red Fort—a landmark of Delhi—has left a community in shock. Emergency crews worked around the clock to treat the injuries, and authorities have promised full medical assistance to all patients.

The Indian government is continuing to investigate the blast, while survivors and families hope for speedier justice and full medical care. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the city’s vulnerability to sudden acts of violence and the urgent need for security measures.
