American Pickers Star Mike Wolfe and Girlfriend Recover After Scary Car Crash in Tennessee
Fans of American Pickers got a big scare this weekend when star Mike Wolfe shared that he and his girlfriend Leticia Cline survived a serious car accident. The crash happened Friday evening in Columbia, Tennessee, and Wolfe opened up about it on his Instagram Stories the next day.
Wolfe, who’s 61 and known for hunting down cool antiques on the History Channel show, posted a photo of his banged-up blue vintage car. It looked pretty wrecked after the collision. Cline jumped in on her own social media too, explaining that her jaw slammed into the broken window during the crash.
“Thank God we’re both safe and doing okay,” Wolfe told his followers. He said they’re getting top-notch medical care, and even though Cline is still in the hospital, doctors expect her to recover fully. “Thanks for giving us some privacy right now—we really appreciate all your love and prayers,” he added. Later that night, Wolfe updated everyone, saying, “It’s been a tough night, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel now.” He also thanked fans for their group prayers, calling it a real source of strength.
Cline shared more details in her posts, including pics of the damaged car and a sweet shot of her and Wolfe chilling in the hospital. She’s wearing a neck brace while resting in bed. “Hopefully surgery tomorrow,” she wrote late Saturday. Her injuries sound rough: a broken jaw in several spots, broken ribs, a cracked sternum, a collapsed lung, and swelling around her spine. But she’s staying positive. “My mouth will be wired shut, but I still have my brain—and that’s what counts,” she said.
This accident comes at a busy time for Wolfe. Earlier this year, he made headlines by closing his beloved Antique Archaeology store in Nashville after 15 years. The spot was a huge hit with fans, drawing visitors from around the world who loved swapping stories about antiques and history. In an emotional Instagram post, Wolfe said goodbye to the place that meant so much. “This isn’t just about bricks and mortar—it’s about the people and the community,” he wrote. He explained he wanted a slower life back in his home state of Iowa, focusing on what really matters.
Wolfe’s big life change happened after losing his longtime American Pickers co-star and best friend Frank Fritz. The duo had an epic partnership on the show for over a decade, picking through rusty treasures and sharing laughs. Fritz passed away in September 2024 from stroke complications while in hospice care. Wolfe has been open about the grief, telling the New York Post that Frank is always on his mind during filming. “We think about him every day on set—he was my friend since 8th grade,” Wolfe shared. “So many finds remind us of him.”
It’s clear Wolfe and Cline are leaning on their support system as they heal from this American Pickers car accident. Fans worldwide are sending good vibes, hoping for a quick recovery so Wolfe can get back to his antique adventures soon.
