Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India posts 23 pc surge in domestic sales in Nov

New Delhi: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) reported that it sold 533,645 two‑wheelers domestically in November, an increase of 23 % over the 432,888 units sold in the same month last year.

Across the board, the company shipped 591,136 vehicles that month, a 25 % rise from the 472,749 units moved in November 2024. Exports climbed even faster, up 44 % to 57,491 units compared with 39,861 shipped the previous year.

The figures reflected steady demand overseas and robust sales within India’s retail market. From April to November 2025, HMSI delivered a total of 4,232,748 units, with 3,812,096 sold domestically and 420,652 exported.

HMSI cites stronger consumer confidence, an expanding network of retailers, and a rebound in both urban and rural areas as key drivers of this growth. It also highlighted its continued focus on road safety, holding awareness campaigns in several cities during Children’s Month at factories, traffic training parks, and safety education centres, as well as conventions in Coimbatore and Varanasi.

The Honda India Foundation launched a Kaushal Vikas Kendra for people with disabilities in Bengaluru and introduced a career development programme for General Duty Assistants trained under Project Pragati.

The introduction of GST 2.0 has spurred the two‑wheeler market, with October registrations hitting a record 1.85 million units – the highest monthly total yet this year. HMSI added 5,05,000 units that month, a modest 3 % increase.

The Japanese automaker also outlined plans to boost global demand for motorcycles in emerging markets such as India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Brazil, and other Central and South American countries. It further announced intentions to establish an electric motorcycle plant in India by 2028.
