CM Bhupendra Patel inaugurates Saurashtra’s longest flyover in Jamnagar

Jamnagar: Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel opened the longest flyover in Saurashtra, a project that cost more than Rs 226 crore.

The four‑lane bridge runs 3,750 metres from the well‑known Subhash Bridge to Saat Rasta Circle, giving the city a much‑needed infrastructure upgrade and easing the long‑standing traffic snarls that plague important junctions.

Built to improve travel flow, the structure will help commuters head toward key destinations such as Dwarka, Reliance, Nayara, GSFC and Rajkot Road without the usual delays.

Places that are currently bottlenecked—Nagnath Junction, Grain Market, Bedi Gate, and Three Darwaja—will see a smoother journey along the new path that runs from Subhash Bridge through Saat Rasta Circle to Lal Bangla Circle.

Officials say the flyover will cut jams, lower fuel consumption, and spare countless commuters valuable time every day.

What makes this project stand out are the amenities positioned under the viaduct.

Across 61 bays, you’ll find parking for more than 1,200 vehicles: 850 two‑wheelers, 250 cars, 100 rickshaws, 100 other types of vehicles, and 26 buses. The space also hosts pay‑and‑use toilets in four spots, a labour‑facilitation centre, sports areas spread over ten bays, seating locations at four points, and dedicated food zones, turning the underground area into a lively public space.

The ribbon‑cutting drew several dignitaries, including Minister‑in‑Charge Arjun Modhwadia, Education Minister of State Rivaba Jadeja, MP Poonam Madam, Mayor Vinod Khimsuriya, as well as district and municipal officials, MLAs, and other respected guests.

Now opened, the flyover is poised to change the way Jamnagar moves, making daily life easier and accelerating the city’s growth plans.

In recent years, Jamnagar has seen significant improvements across its road, rail and industrial transport links, giving it better access to places like Rajkot, Dwarka, Reliance and Nayara refinery zones, GSFC, and major national highways.

With upgraded under‑bridge facilities, expanded parking and improved routes, intra‑city connectivity has strengthened, while ongoing rail projects and proximity to key ports cement Jamnagar’s reputation as a rising regional centre for industry, trade and travel.
