Monsoon session of Gujarat Assembly to begin tomorrow, five key Bills on agenda

Gandhinagar is gearing up for an action-packed three-day monsoon session of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, starting Monday, September 8. Lawmakers will dive into five important bills that could shake up industries, taxes, and healthcare in the state. This session promises big changes to boost business and make life easier for everyone.

State Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rushikesh Patel shared the exciting details. “The Gujarat Assembly session runs from September 8 to 10,” he said. “We’ll table five key bills for discussion and approval.” These Gujarat bills focus on sparking industrial growth, simplifying taxes, tightening healthcare rules, and making it simpler to start and run businesses in Gujarat.

One standout is the Factories (Gujarat Amendment) Bill, 2025. It turns a recent ordinance into law, ramping up workplace safety and employee perks—especially for women workers. The goal? Attract more industrial investments and create jobs, helping Gujarat’s economy thrive.

Tax fans, take note: The Gujarat Goods and Services Tax (Second Amendment) Bill, 2025 aligns state rules with the latest GST Council recommendations and the Central GST Act. It locks in changes from a previous ordinance, ensuring smoother GST implementation across Gujarat.

Another game-changer is the Gujarat Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025. This one pushes for simpler, digital-friendly laws to cut red tape, ease industrial operations, and reduce court backlogs. It’s all about making Gujarat a top spot for ease of doing business.

In healthcare news, the Gujarat Medical Practitioners (Amendment) Bill, 2025 swaps “Board” for “Council” in the State Medical Council for Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine. This matches central government guidelines and strengthens traditional medicine practices. Plus, the Gujarat Medical Institutions (Registration and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill, 2025 gives clinical setups more time to finish their required registrations under the 2021 act, keeping healthcare running smoothly.

The session won’t just be about bills—Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will present a special resolution to congratulate the central government and armed forces on the successful Operation Sindoor. This nod highlights national pride amid the legislative hustle.

Overall, this Gujarat Legislative Assembly session looks set to drive reforms in industry, taxation, and healthcare, paving the way for a stronger future. Stay tuned as these changes unfold!
