The Aramco China Championship opened a new chapter for two Indian golfers, Diksha Dagar and Pranavi Urs. The pair made the 36‑hole cut in Shenzhen, giving them a chance to climb the leaderboard in the final round.
After stepping away from the Women’s Indian Open, Dagar entered the Aramco event with fresh momentum. She posted a 3‑under‑par 70, racking up four birdies and only one bogey. Urs matched that score, shooting another 3‑under‑70 with five birdies and two bogeys.
Both players sit in the middle of the standings right now – Dagar is tied for 35th and Urs for 49th. The cut line was set at two under par, and a total of 63 players advanced to the final day. Unfortunately, Avani Prashanth (74) and Tvesa Malik (75) did not make the cut.
Thailand’s star, Cheenglab Phaiwat, stole the spotlight in round two. She recorded a blistering 65‑point‑low (–8) to lead the tournament with a 12‑under‑par total. Her run of birdies on holes two, three, and five set the tone, followed by an eagle on the sixth and another birdie on the eighth. Even after a single faltered shot on the 15th, she hit an impressive hole‑out eagle on the 17th and capped the day with a birdie on the 18th to hold a one‑shot advantage with one round left.
In second place, Chinese golfers Ruoning Yin and Ruixin Liu shared the spot after both also finished at 65 (–8). They produced nine birdies each and only dropped one shot on the World Cup Course, delighting the home crowd. A fourth‑place tie features American Alison Lee, Thai Pramphun, Swedish Kajsa Arwefjäll, and Chinese Qianhui Lin, all sitting at nine‑under par.
Team Rhodes made a splash in the team competition. The quartet – Mimi Rhodes, Kristyna Napoleaova, Trichat Cheenglab, and Kultida Pramphun – secured a four‑stroke victory with a final score of 39‑under par on the Mission Hills China World Cup Course. They began the day at 18‑under and surged ahead early, going eight‑under after five holes and nine‑under at the turn. Back‑nine play only widened their lead, especially after Cheenglab’s spectacular 17th‑hole eagle sealed an unassailable victory for the English‑anchored Team Rhodes.
This triumph marks a second team win for England’s Rhodes, who also lifted the title in Riyadh earlier this year—just months after turning professional. The Aramco China Championship continues to deliver exciting swings, dramatic eagles, and a high‑stakes finish that will be remembered by fans and new fans alike.
