Pukhraj Singh Gill stunned the local golf crowd in Jamshedpur on November 9 by winning the IGPL Invitational and pocketing the winner’s cheque from former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda.
Gill shot a nine‑shot margin – the biggest ever in IGPL history – and now sits second on the IGPL Order of Merit with ₹48.81 million. He trails the league leader, Aman Raj, by less than ₹12 lakh.
The victory also secures Gill a spot in the final stage of the Asian Tour’s Qualifying School, the top four IGPL leaders automatically earn entry. Gill said the win could push him onto the Asian Tour and, if he tops the list, give him a place in next year’s International Series and an Open Qualifying Series tournament.
IGPL CEO Uttam Singh Mundy highlighted the league’s growing rewards for players. “We offer many incentives, and more are on the way,” he said. “We want the best facilities for these talented golfers.” He added that young stars like Kartik Singh and Veer Ganapathy are already making waves.
The IGPL’s Order of Merit now features names such as Aman Raj, Pukhraj, Kartik Singh Bhullar, Sachin Baisoya, Kapil Kumar and Veer Ganapathy. Seven players have already earned over ₹30 lakh from the first six events.
So far, four golfers have claimed multiple titles. Bhullar tops the list with wins in Chandigarh and Jaypee Greens, while Aman Raj follows with victories in Pune and Kolkata. Kapil Kumar and Pukhraj each have one win.
In the Pro‑Am event, Harendra Gupta of Chandigarh led his trio – Nishant Jha, Harsh Kumar Pandey, and Vinayak Siddhi – to a memorable victory. Tusshar Pannu’s team, featuring Deepak Sahay, Aarav Wadhera, and Raman Jha, finished second, and Samarth Dwivedi’s squad, with Ms. Punam Doshi, Dheer Dutta and Nitin Khosla, took third.
Pukhraj celebrated his win alongside chief guest Arjun Munda, with fellow golfers Rupesh Katriar and Prashant Maurya in tow.
The IGPL Tour’s next event is scheduled in Mumbai on November 20.
