Bihar police are on high alert as the state prepares for the second round of its 2025 Assembly elections, scheduled for Tuesday, November 11.
After a calm first phase on November 6, security is stepped up across 122 polling stations in 20 districts. The focus is on areas that touch international and interstate borders—especially in the seven districts along the Indo‑Nepal frontier: West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Araria, and Kishanganj.
All state borders have been sealed, and inter‑state limits were closed Sunday night to stop any illegal movement. District superintendents are tightening patrols and doubling their presence on the front lines.
The Election Commission has deployed 1,650 central security personnel statewide to keep polling smooth and peaceful. Additional state police teams are covering nearby vital stations.
To spot any trouble early, drones, CCTV cameras and Quick Response Teams will monitor hotspots. Police chief Vinay Kumar has urged voters to go out without fear, saying, “Elections are the festival of democracy. We’ll keep every voter safe.”
The first phase ended peacefully, and the police now tighten vigilance for today’s balloting, promising a free, fair and orderly vote across Bihar’s sensitive regions.
