Farmers welcome MSP hike for Rabi crops, say PM Modi’s decision will boost income and living standards

Farmers across India are cheering the Union Cabinet’s latest move to set Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for Rabi crops in the 2026-27 marketing season. They see it as a big boost to their earnings and a step toward better lives.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria district, local farmers couldn’t hide their excitement. One grower shared his thoughts: “This is great—Prime Minister Modi is doing outstanding work, and we’re thrilled. From wheat and mustard to groundnut, everything’s moving forward, and we’re seeing real benefits.”
Another farmer praised the decision from the PM-led Cabinet, calling it a huge win for the farming community. “PM Modi’s MSP push helps farmers everywhere,” he said. “All of us farmer brothers thank him from the heart.”
Many believe these steady MSP increases will lift their finances right away. As one put it, “Raising MSP for both Rabi and Kharif crops will change farmers’ lives for the better—their income, living standards, and overall lifestyle will all improve.”
The positive vibes echoed in Punjab’s Fazilka district too. Farmers Jaswinder Singh and Lakhwinder Singh hailed the announcement as a solid sign that the government cares about farmer welfare. “It’s a welcome step forward,” they said.
That said, they also flagged rising costs in farming, from diesel and pesticides to irrigation and other supplies. They urged the government to make MSP more transparent and tied closer to those real expenses, so farmers get even stronger support.
