Bhopal, Dec 12 (LatestNewsX) — The BJP‑led administration, headed by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, celebrated its second anniversary in office on Friday, announcing that the state has successfully eliminated Maoist influence with help from the Centre.
A statement from the CM’s office outlined key decisions and development projects carried out over the past two years. Highlights include progress on major central schemes such as the Ken‑Betwa river linkage, the Parvati‑Kalisindh‑Chambal initiative, and a memorandum of understanding with Maharashtra for the Tapti Basin Mega Recharge programme.
Other noted actions were: raising the monthly grant for the Ladli Behna Yojana from ₹1,250 to ₹1,500; rebranding the ‘CM Rise Schools’ as ‘Sandipani Vidyalay’; and opening a PM Mitra Park in Dhar district. The government also mentioned early measures like banning loudspeakers at religious and public venues and stopping the sale of meat in open spaces.
In a separate move, all transport checkpoints at interstate borders were shut after a corruption scandal that led to the arrest of a former inspector and the recovery of 52 kg of gold in Bhopal. Wildlife conservation efforts received attention, with the creation of two new cheetah habitats at Gandhi Sagar and Nauradehi following the launch of Project Cheetah at Kuno National Park in 2022.
The administration pointed to investment‑oriented events such as the Global Investors Summit and Regional Industry Conclaves that took place in the last year. After the BJP secured 163 out of 230 seats in the 2023 Assembly elections, Mohan Yadav—an MLA from Ujjain South and former Higher Education Minister—was sworn in as Chief Minister on December 13, 2023, succeeding long‑time CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who has joined the Union cabinet as Agriculture Minister.
“In the past two years, Madhya Pradesh has seen remarkable growth, and the pace of development has accelerated, reflected in improved development indicators,” the CM’s office added. pd/dan
