Jaipur gears up for Pravasi Rajasthani Divas with over 8,700 registrations

Jaipur – December 6 (LatestNewsX)
The team behind the upcoming Pravasi Rajasthani Divas, launched by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, is now in the final push to see the event through.

As the celebration on 10 December approaches, workers are greening streets, installing decorations and running clean‑up drives throughout Jaipur, the state capital. Rajasthan is full of anticipation, with many non‑resident Rajasthani Indians and overseas businessmen eagerly looking forward to the festivities.

So far, more than 8,700 people have signed up for the program. Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and Additional Chief Secretary Shikhar Agarwal (Industries & Commerce Department) visited the venue at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre in Sitapura to check on the progress. They toured the main ceremony hall, the rooms earmarked for sectoral sessions, and the newly created “Progress Path” intended to highlight the state’s recent achievements.

The Chief Secretary urged staff to finish everything that remains within 48 hours, stressing that the event is being staged according to the Chief Minister’s vision. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister keeps a close eye on updates and personally reaches out to non‑resident Rajasthani families, inviting them to join.

Shikhar Agarwal explained that the event’s chief aim is to reconnect the diaspora with their homeland and involve them in Rajasthan’s development. In addition, a fresh policy framework has been introduced to tackle the challenges that may arise. Commissioner Suresh Kumar Ola of the Bureau of Investment Promotion said the venue’s design reflects Rajasthan’s cultural heritage so that guests feel a strong sense of belonging and fond memories return.

Because many attendees might want to explore Jaipur’s attractions, the city has arranged comprehensive support. The Archaeology and Museum Department has appointed nodal officers at protected monuments, while the Forest Department has set up points of contact to offer information on forest and wildlife tourism spots.

During last year’s Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced that 10 December would become the yearly Pravasi Rajasthani Divas. Today marks the first celebration of that initiative, bringing the Rajasthani diaspora together and strengthening their ties to their roots. The visit also featured senior officials such as Anandi (JDA Commissioner), Shivangi Swarnkar (MD, RIICO), Manisha Arora (Commissioner, Rajasthan Foundation), Gaurav Saini (Commissioner, Municipal Corporation), and Jugal Kishore Meena (Additional Commissioner, BIP).
