Actors Rishab Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth from the film Kantara: Chapter 1 visited Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday at the Mukhyamantri Janseva Sadan. The visit was a courtesy stop as the actors met with the CM and her team to discuss the movie’s celebration of India’s cultural heritage.
Shortly before the meeting, CM Gupta posted a series of Instagram photos from the event. In the post she praised the film’s portrayal of India’s spiritual depth and praised its creators for bringing local traditions onto a global stage. “Wishing the entire team great success in this remarkable cinematic journey,” she wrote, and shared the images on her official account.
Kantara: Chapter 1 chronicles the roots of Daiva worship in Tulunadu, tracing the practice back to the fourth‑century Kadamba dynasty. Rishab Shetty headlines as Berme, the guardian of the Kantara forest and its tribal communities, while Gulshan Devaiah and Jayaram play key roles in a clash between a royal family and the tribes defending their heritage. Supporting actors include Rakesh Poojari, Hariprashanth MG, Deepak Rai Panaje, Shaneel Gautham, and Naveen Bondel.
Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under the Hombale Films banner, the Telugu‑language film has seen a strong theatrical run and is streaming in multiple languages.
