Places associated with Lord Krishna in MP’s Dhar and Jhabua to be developed as pilgrimage sites: CM Mohan Yadav

On December 12 in Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the tribal‑majority districts of Dhar and Jhabua will have their Krishna‑related sites added to the state’s new “Sri Krishna Patheya” pilgrimage itinerary. He made the statement to devotees gathered for the “Krishna Dharma Mahotsav” in a Jhabua village, an event that was organized by the Pranami Sampradaya.
The chief minister said the “Krishna Patheya” plan aims to turn key Krishna‑associated locations into pilgrimage destinations, modelling the effort after the “Ram Gaman Path” being executed jointly by Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The state government identified four sites in Madhya Pradesh that, according to tradition, were visited by Lord Krishna. These include Sandipani Ashram, Narayan Dham, Amjhera Dham, and Janapav Dham.
It is said that Krishna studied under Sage Sandipani at the Ashram in Ujjain. Narayan Dham, located in Dhar district, commemorates the friendship between Krishna and the humble Brahmin Sudama. Amjhera Dham, also in Dhar, is believed to be the place where Krishna defeated Rukmi, the brother of Rukmini, and, with her consent, “abducted” her.
Speaking remotely from Bhopal, Yadav described the event as a celebration of devotion to Krishna, spiritual insight, and universal brotherhood. He praised the festival for blending tradition, decoration, social reform, and spiritual unity. He also noted that the Pranami sect was widely spread by Swami Prananath and his disciple Maharaja Chhatrasal. Of the three main dhams of the Pranami Sampradaya, Padmavati Puri in Panna district is highlighted as one of them.
The chief minister finished his address by extending warm wishes to the “Dharma Mahotsav” and to all supporters of the Pranami Sampradaya.
