Mumbai – The popular television miniseries The Railway Men celebrated its second‑year anniversary on Tuesday, and star Sunny Hinduja took to social media to share the moment.
In a bright Instagram post, the “Aspirants” actor called the show a heartfelt tribute to the brave railway workers who risked their lives for the nation. “Happy 2 years, Railway Men! It was an honor to play Jagmohan Kumawat and to be part of this moving story,” he wrote, tagging the series with #2YearstoRailwayMen. His post also featured a few behind‑the‑scenes shots from the set.
Produced by YRF Entertainment, the streaming division of Yash Raj Films, The Railway Men tells the inspiring true story of the railway crew that stepped in during the 1984 Bhopal gas leak. On December 3, 1984, more than 500,000 residents near the Union Carbide India Limited plant were exposed to the toxic gas methyl isocyanate, marking one of the deadliest industrial disasters in history. The series follows station master Ghulam Dastagir and his team at Bhopal Junction as they help rescue commuters and wildlife from the deadly plume.
The cast includes R. Madhavan as Rati Pandey, the Central Railway’s general manager, Kay Kay Menon as station master Iftekaar Siddiqui, Divyenndu as a rogue policeman‑tricking robber Balwant Yadav, and Babil Khan as novice loco pilot Imad Riaz. Technical talent includes cinematographer Rubais, editors Yasha Jaidev and Ramchandani, and composer Sam Slater.
The Railway Men blends drama with real‑life heroism, reminding viewers of the heroes that keep India moving—both literally and figuratively.
