Swati Maliwal alleges Punjab govt blocking newspaper distribution over ‘Sheesh Mahal 2.0’ reports

Swati Maliwal, a Rajya Sabha MP, said on Sunday that the Punjab government tried to block newspapers in the state after she accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal of misusing state resources.

On the social‑media platform X, Maliwal posted: “Shocking! The Punjab government has reportedly attempted to stop the distribution of newspapers in several areas today. All of this is happening because the news about Arvind Kejriwal’s Sheesh Mahal 2.0 is spreading like wildfire across Punjab.” She warned that media outlets would lose government advertising if they covered her story or showed her pictures, calling the act a “dictatorship.”

The tweet follows Maliwal’s Saturday posts, where she repeated claims that Kejriwal and other AAP leaders are living in luxury government bungalows in Chandigarh. She says the two‑acre, seven‑star bungalow in Sector 2, normally reserved for the Punjab Chief Minister, now belongs to Kejriwal. She also added that other former Delhi officials, such as Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, are using government homes in Sectors 39 and No. 926, and that several Delhi‑based AAP workers have moved to Chandigarh.

Maliwal accused the Punjab government of offering these bungalows to AAP leaders and said it was a crime for them to occupy state property. She even mentioned that Kejriwal flew from the bungalow to Ambala in a government helicopter, then used a Punjab government jet to travel to Gujarat for AAP work.

Neither the Punjab government nor the Aam Aadmi Party has responded to these latest allegations.
