After PM Modi offers prayers at CR Park Kali Bari on Maha Ashtami, BJP leaders hails PM’s ‘historic visit’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi dove into the vibrant Durga Puja celebrations in Delhi on Tuesday, visiting the iconic Kali Bari Temple in Chittaranjan Park—often called CR Park—on the special day of Maha Ashtami.
Modi arrived with genuine devotion, taking part in rituals at the temple, which stands as a hub for Bengali culture in the heart of India’s capital. His presence lit up the festivities, drawing crowds who cherish the traditions passed down through generations.
BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, who joined the event, shared her excitement: “Wishing you all a very happy Durga Ashtami! Today, the honorable Prime Minister came to CR Park. He visited the Kali Ma temple, performed the worship and rituals to receive the Goddess’s blessings, and even joined in at the pandal.”
BJP MLA from Greater Kailash, Shikha Rai, added a heartfelt touch: “The Prime Minister chose to visit the Kali Bari Temple. He could have gone anywhere, but the Goddess called him here—it’s her divine grace shining on us all. His devotion shone through as he focused entirely on the worship, skipping other events.”
Dr. Rajiv, secretary of the temple committee, beamed with pride over how smoothly everything went. “It was fantastic and ran without a hitch,” he said. “Our arrangements were top-notch, and he came with such sincerity. It’s a huge honor for us that Prime Minister Modi visited.”
The priest leading the rituals, Dr. Ranjeet Kumar Pahadi, highlighted a personal moment: “He performed the Aarti of the Goddess himself.”
Later, Modi posted on X about his experience: “Today, on the auspicious day of Maha Ashtami, I joined the Durga Puja celebrations at Chittaranjan Park in Delhi. This area is deeply rooted in Bengali culture. These events truly capture our society’s unity and cultural energy. I prayed for everyone’s happiness and well-being.”
