India has ‘potential’ to promote peace in Middle East: Global OSINT Competitive Intelligence founder

India’s Key Role in Expanding Abraham Accords for Middle East Peace

A top expert believes India can play a big part in bringing peace to the Middle East by growing the Abraham Accords. Nachum Shiloh, founder and CEO of Global OSINT Competitive Intelligence Ltd, shared these thoughts in an interview with from New Delhi.

Shiloh pointed out that India, as a rising superpower, can act as a neutral mediator. "India can talk to all the countries in the Abraham Accords, even those not yet on board, plus other regional players," he said. "With its fair influence, India can push these accords forward and help stop any efforts to sabotage peace."

This comes at a tense time in the region. An emergency summit of Arab and Islamic leaders wrapped up in Doha recently. They strongly condemned Israel’s strikes on Hamas leaders in Qatar’s capital, calling it a "cowardly attack." The meeting followed outrage over Israeli airstrikes on September 9 that killed six people. But the leaders didn’t commit to any specific actions.

Shiloh stressed the need to focus on progress. "The conflict will end someday, hopefully soon," he told . "The real goal is peace and prosperity in the Middle East through expanding the Abraham Accords. We’re marking five years since they started, so it’s time to promote and grow them. India has huge potential to help make that happen."

What Are the Abraham Accords?

The Abraham Accords mark a game-changing moment in Middle East diplomacy. Signed in 2020, they normalized ties between Israel and several Arab nations, breaking decades of isolation.

It all began on August 13, 2020, when the United States, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced the deal. Bahrain soon joined, leading to more agreements. The official signing happened on September 15, 2020, with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Bahrain’s Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu putting pen to paper.

The name "Abraham Accords" honors the shared figure of Abraham, a prophet in both Judaism and Islam, highlighting the spirit of unity and respect between faiths.

These pacts opened doors for full diplomatic and economic relations. The UAE even sent its first ambassador to Israel, Mohammed Al Khaja, in March 2021. Today, they foster cooperation in trade, security, and more between Israel, UAE, Bahrain, and others.

How Do Abraham Accords Benefit India?

For India, the Abraham Accords are a diplomatic win. They give India room to build stronger ties with both Israel and Arab countries without picking sides. Earlier, balancing these relationships was tricky, but now it’s smoother.

India can boost partnerships in key areas like trade, investments, energy, defense, and technology. With Arab nations and Israel collaborating, fresh opportunities pop up for multi-sector deals. Overall, these accords ease India’s challenges in West Asia, letting it protect its strategic and economic interests while deepening connections.

Expert’s Take on Israel-Gaza Tensions

Shiloh also addressed claims that the Israel-Gaza conflict amounts to genocide. He called them "propaganda" and urged everyone to check facts first. "These reports aren’t based on reality—media and politicians often repeat unverified claims," he said. "Yes, there’s a military conflict, but labeling it genocide isn’t fair or true. All sides must fact-check before throwing around serious allegations."

As the Middle East navigates these challenges, experts like Shiloh see India’s role as vital in pushing for dialogue and lasting peace through tools like the Abraham Accords.
