
Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan kicks off a packed two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday, with the spotlight on boosting India-UAE ties in education and innovation. An official shared exciting details about how this trip aims to open new doors for students and young people from both countries.
Pradhan’s itinerary focuses on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the education sector. He’ll chat with top UAE leaders, ministers, policymakers, academicians, and reps from Indian and UAE institutions to push forward partnerships in education, innovation, and knowledge exchange. This visit highlights India’s push for global academic excellence and sets the stage for more collaborations between India and UAE.
On September 11, the big moment arrives: Pradhan will join UAE Minister of Higher Education Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar to inaugurate the much-awaited Dubai Campus of the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-Ahmedabad Dubai Campus). This new hub promises to bring top-notch management education to the region, attracting students keen on IIM Ahmedabad courses abroad.
The two ministers will also dive deep into ongoing India-UAE education collaborations. Later that day, Pradhan heads to a Round Table Conference for Indian higher education institutions in the UAE, where they’ll brainstorm ways to foster academic excellence and innovations.
Kicking things off on September 10, Pradhan meets Sara Musallam, Chairperson of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). Next up, he visits IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi Campus to launch the Atal Incubation Centre—India’s first such center abroad. He’ll also kickstart PhD and B.Tech programs there, giving students fresh opportunities in engineering and research.
Pradhan won’t miss connecting with the community. He’ll interact with students and faculty at the campus, then head to the iconic BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi. In the evening, he attends the first anniversary celebrations of a private Indian university’s Dubai Campus.
Shifting to Dubai, Pradhan joins the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ tree plantation drive at the Indian Consulate, promoting environmental awareness. He’ll celebrate Teachers’ Day by meeting CBSE school principals and launch Atal Tinkering Labs in Indian schools across the UAE to spark innovation among kids.
