RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav launches ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’ against youth unemployment, increasing crime incidents

Tejashwi Yadav Kicks Off Adhikar Yatra in Bihar to Fight Youth Unemployment and Boost Rights

Patna, Bihar – Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav hit the road on Tuesday with his Adhikar Yatra, a big rally aimed at tackling youth unemployment in Bihar. He also promised to protect women’s rights, honor teachers, and fix the state’s health and education systems. This move comes as Bihar gears up for the upcoming assembly elections, with the INDIA bloc eyeing a strong challenge against the ruling NDA.

RJD MP Sanjay Yadav explained that the yatra covers districts missed by the earlier Voter Adhikar Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, where RJD joined in. "Our workers from those areas asked us to visit, so Tejashwi ji decided to go there to respect their wishes," Sanjay Yadav told . He added that the yatra carries a fresh vision for a "new Bihar" – one with jobs for young people, women’s empowerment, respect for teachers, new industries, and better schools and hospitals.

The Adhikar Yatra started in Jehanabad today and will wrap up on September 20 in Vaishali. It will pass through key spots like Begusarai, Khagaria, and Madhepura, giving Tejashwi a chance to connect directly with locals on Bihar unemployment issues and development needs.

With buzz growing about who will be the INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial face for the Bihar assembly elections, Sanjay Yadav gave a strong nod to Tejashwi. "Tejashwi ji has the full support of Bihar – no one else has that kind of backing in the country," he said. On seat-sharing talks within the INDIA alliance, he kept it positive: "Everything is going smoothly. We’re not hashing it out in public; it’s all on track."

Before launching the yatra, Tejashwi himself spoke to about his big plans. "After covering the leftover districts like Jehanabad, Begusarai, Khagaria, and Madhepura from the Voter Adhikar Yatra, we’re now on this Bihar Adhikar Yatra. It’s about building a developed Bihar with a new resolve. This isn’t just my journey – it’s for the unemployed youth of the state," he said. He also vowed to form a "corruption-free, crime-free government" if RJD comes to power.

Not everyone is cheering, though. BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh took a sharp dig at the yatra. "Tejashwi Yadav should travel with his whole family, especially his father Lalu Prasad Yadav, the former Chief Minister," Singh told . "Show Lalu ji the real development Bihar has seen under Nitish Kumar and PM Narendra Modi. Back in the day, Lalu used to ask the poor, ‘What will you do with electricity or roads?’ Now, take him on a road trip across Bihar – he’ll see the change!"

Bihar’s political scene is heating up ahead of the assembly polls. The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, holds a strong position in the 243-member Bihar Assembly with 131 seats: BJP with 80 MLAs, JD(U) with 45, HAM(S) with 4, plus support from 2 Independents.

On the other side, the Opposition INDIA bloc has 111 seats, led by RJD’s 77 MLAs, followed by Congress with 19, CPI(ML) with 11, CPI(M) with 2, and CPI with 2. As the battle lines draw, Tejashwi’s Adhikar Yatra could play a key role in rallying support against youth unemployment and pushing for change in Bihar.
