
Exciting start to the 64th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament in Bengaluru! The Sub-Junior Boys (U-15) matches kicked off with plenty of action and close contests on Thursday, showcasing young football talent from across India.
Minerva Public School pulls off a thrilling win
In the first match, Minerva Public School from CISCE narrowly beat Indira Modern High School from Haryana 2-1. Haryana’s Rahul scored an early goal in the first minute, giving his team the lead. But Minerva fought back strong. Gurtej Veer scored the equalizer in the 32nd minute, and Kipgen scored a winning goal in stoppage time (50+2 minutes). It was an exciting comeback for Minerva!
Jharkhand’s Shri Leelanand shines with a big win
In another match, Shri Leelanand Secondary School from Jharkhand defeated Tashi Namgyal Academy (IPSC) from Sikkim 5-1. Suraj opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and then Abhi scored twice in quick succession (33rd and 35th minutes). Ritesh and Ishant added two more goals, making it a dominant win. IPSC scored a consolation goal through S Chettri in the 38th minute.
Madhya Pradesh’s River Side Natural School wins comfortably
River Side Natural School from Madhya Pradesh beat Chandigarh’s Govt Model Sr. Secondary School 3-1. Lokesh scored twice for Madhya Pradesh (22nd and 50th minutes), while Vineet added one in the 20th minute. Chandigarh’s Jayaraj scored a late goal in the 47th minute but couldn’t change the outcome.
Tense clashes end in draws
Two matches ended without any goals. SFS Higher Secondary School from Nagaland and JNV Pakur-1 from NVS played a goalless 0-0 draw. Similarly, Anand Niketan School from Gujarat and Vidyachal International School from Bihar also finished 0-0, both teams showing strong defense but unable to score.
