On Monday, Delhi Airport released a notice warning passengers that delays on IndiGo flights might still occur. In a message posted on the social media platform X, the airport wrote, “IndiGo flights may continue to experience delays. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight status with their airline before heading to the airport to avoid any inconvenience.”
The airport also emphasized that staff are coordinating closely with all parties involved to keep disruptions to a minimum and provide a smooth travel experience. “Our teams are working closely with all stakeholders to minimise disruptions and ensure a smooth travel experience. For assistance, including medical support, please visit the information desk where our on‑ground staff is ready to help,” the airport added.
Passengers were reminded that a range of public transport options—metro, buses, and cabs—are available to make travel to and from the airport convenient. “Additionally, multiple public transport options — such as metro, buses, and cabs — are available for convenient travel to and from the airport. For real‑time updates and important information, please visit our official website: www.newdelhiairport.in,” the advisory continued.
Meanwhile, IndiGo has already issued refunds totaling 610 crore rupees after the government mandated that all refunds for cancelled or significantly delayed flights be completed by 8 p.m. on Sunday, as stated by the Ministry of Civil Aviation earlier. The airline is not allowed to charge extra fees for rescheduling trips that were affected by cancellations. Support centers have been set up to help passengers resolve refund and rebooking issues promptly.
The ministry noted that IndiGo’s performance is steadily improving, with flight schedules gradually returning to normal levels. In response to recent cancellations that shifted demand and caused a temporary spike in airfares, the government imposed an immediate fare cap to protect travellers. Since the order was implemented, fares on affected routes have fallen to acceptable levels, and all airlines are required to adhere strictly to the new fare structure.
IndiGo also received instructions to locate and return any lost baggage to passengers within 48 hours and to maintain continuous communication throughout the process. By Saturday, the airline had successfully delivered 3,000 pieces of delayed luggage back to their owners across India.
