‘Be aggressive, organised in reaching out to voters’: Tejashwi Yadav urges party leaders

In a key political move ahead of Bihar’s 2025 Assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) held an important meeting in Patna on Wednesday. The gathering brought together all senior leaders and MLAs to plan the party’s election strategy and strengthen their alliance.

The meeting took place at Tejashwi Yadav’s residence on Polo Road, with the Leader of Opposition emphasizing the significance of this election. Tejashwi said it’s not just about changing the government but about shaping the future of Bihar.

During the discussion, MLAs shared feedback from their constituencies, highlighting major voter concerns like unemployment, rising prices, and corruption. These issues are likely to play a big role in the upcoming elections.

The RJD leaders also reviewed how sitting MLAs are performing and discussed potential candidate changes in some areas. Tejashwi made it clear that seat-sharing will be based on workers’ efforts and public mood. He urged party workers to intensify their outreach, especially to recover names removed from voter lists.

Part of the meeting focused on strengthening the Mahagathbandhan — the Grand Alliance with Congress and Left parties. Leaders confirmed that talks on seat allocation are already underway, and the alliance remains united.

Tejashwi also shared insights from his recent Voter Rights Yatra, saying he sensed strong public anger over key issues. To boost grassroots support, MLAs will hold meetings at local levels and gather feedback straight from voters. Strengthening booth-level organization is a top priority for the party.

On a political note, Tejashwi took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a controversy involving alleged abusive remarks about the Prime Minister’s mother. He pointed out that BJP leaders had previously made similar statements about opposition leaders’ families, questioning why the Prime Minister stayed silent then and only now reacted.

Promising confident prospects, RJD leaders leaving the meeting said, “This time, we will celebrate Diwali,” indicating their strong belief in victory.

This meeting marks a crucial step for the RJD as they gear up for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, focusing on voter issues, alliance strength, and organizational preparedness.
