Bhopal, Dec 12 (LatestNewsX) – Governor Mangubhai Patel of Madhya Pradesh spent Friday at Lok Bhavan reviewing the “PM Janman Scheme” of the Tribal Cell and chatting with department heads about its rollout.
In an official statement, the governor said that the “PM Janman Scheme”, part of the “Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan”, has been live in 24 districts of the state since 2023.
He reported that the Public Health and Family Welfare Department’s “Mobile Medical Units” have now recorded more than 952,000 patients—475,375 from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) and 476,647 other beneficiaries. These units screened 95,360 people for sickle cell disease, 15,811 for tuberculosis, and performed diagnostic tests on over seven lakh patients.
Under the programme, more than 1,343,000 members of PVTG communities living in over 6,000 habitations are receiving assistance.
The governor also highlighted that 130,521 homes built under the “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana” are complete. At present, the Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam is operating 147 group water supply schemes.
For “PM Janman”, all 48 approved group water supply projects in Anuppur and Balaghat districts have been finished, and the remaining maintenance work will be wrapped up on schedule. Additional schemes—six in Datia, Katni, Seoni, and Umaria—are almost done, with the rest expected to finish by the deadline, the statement added.
During the meeting, Patel instructed officials to strictly follow the mobile unit route chart when dispensing medicines from the “Mobile Medical Units”. “Medicines must be provided to match each patient’s needs and the interval before the unit’s next visit, so patients have enough supplies until the unit returns,” he said.
He also tasked teams with compiling data on household electricity connections and identifying homes lacking connections in all tribal‑dominant districts across the state.
