Karan Deol says ‘I carry you with me every day’ in a heartfelt post remembering grandfather Dharmendra
In Mumbai, Karan Deol posted a heartfelt tribute to his “Bade Papa,” Dharmendra, who was scheduled to mark his 90th birthday on Monday.
He explained that growing up watching his grandfather shaped how he carries himself, how he treats people, and how he stays grounded no matter what life throws his way. Karan says he strives every day to adopt those same qualities.
His emotional birthday message was, “Bade Papa…I grew up watching you, how you carried yourself, how you treated people, how you stayed grounded no matter what life threw at you. Everything I try to be today… a calmer mind, a kinder heart, a stronger person… it all comes from you. (sic).”
Recollecting the gentle hugs and quiet reassurances from Dharmendra, Karan thanked him for playing a huge role in shaping him into the person he is now.
“Your hugs gave me warmth, that quiet reassurance. You made everything feel okay without even saying a word. I miss that more than I can explain.”
“There will never be anyone like you, Bade Papa. Thank you for shaping me in ways I understood only when I grew up. Thank you for loving me the way only you could. I carry you with me every day. I love you.”
“And I miss you, always. Happy Birthday!,” he added.
Messages of love for the legendary actor have been pouring in from all corners.
Earlier, Sunny Deol had also shown his admiration for his late father, writing, “Today is my father’s birthday. Papa is always with me, inside me love you papa. Miss you. (sic)” on Instagram. His post also featured a throwback clip of Dharmendra enjoying the breathtaking view of the mountains.
In the video, when Sunny asks, “So papa enjoying?”, Dharmendra replies, “I am really enjoying my son, it’s lovely.”
