Telangana first state to adopt three-zone model for economic transformation: CM Reddy

Hyderabad, Dec 8 (LatestNewsX) – Telangana is set to become the first Indian state to roll out a three‑zone growth plan, announced Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday.

Speaking at the first session of the Telangana Rising Global Summit, which will take place in the new Bharat Future City, the CM laid out the state’s roadmap to hit a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

He revealed that the state will be the first in India to adopt a tri‑sector model for economic transformation: CURE (Core Urban Region Economy) focused on services, PURE (Peri‑Urban Region Economy) geared toward manufacturing, and RARE (Rural and Agri Region Economy) centred on agri‑driven growth.

The Chief Minister welcomed leaders from business, academia, public policy, diplomacy, corporate sectors, government and the wider community for the two‑day event.

Highlighting Telangana’s solid fundamentals, he pointed out that the state, despite housing only about 2.9 % of India’s population, already contributes almost 5 % to the national GDP, and reiterated his ambition for it to account for 10 % of India’s output by 2047.

Citing Guangdong in China as a benchmark, he noted how the province surged to become China’s top economic powerhouse in a little over twenty years. Telangana aims to adopt similar best practices and benchmark itself against the world’s leading regions.

The CM said the state is drawing inspiration from powerhouses such as China, Japan, Germany, South Korea and Singapore, and is preparing to compete with them while inviting these nations to collaborate, invest and support the state’s ascent.

He stressed that Tamil Nadu’s future roadmap must be built on collective consultation and shared wisdom, echoing the spirit that guided the drafting of the Indian Constitution.

Reflecting on the long struggle that led to Telangana’s emergence as a separate state, he recalled that the dream came true in 2014 under Sonia Gandhi’s leadership and the then‑Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

“Telangana is now India’s youngest state, but our goal is to make it the most developed one in the country and among the best globally,” he said. “Using the Indian model of constitution‑making, the government has engaged in wide‑ranging consultations to chart the state’s future. Experts envisaged what Telangana could achieve by 2047 – when India completes a century of independence. That vision laid the foundation for Telangana Rising 2047.”

The CM added that the state has consulted its citizens to gauge their hopes and dreams, and the ambitious roadmap has been shaped with inputs from administrative officers, central government experts, the Indian School of Business and NITI Aayog.

He promised the government would remain open to ideas, insights and feedback from all participants over the next two days.

Acknowledging the enormity of the vision, the Chief Minister affirmed that nothing is beyond reach with collective resolve.

“If something seems difficult, let’s do it now. If it feels impossible, we will give you more time to plan,” he remarked.

“Yesterday was a dream, today is a plan. With all of you on board, I see partners and stakeholders in this journey. With your support, we can achieve all our goals. Telangana Rising is unstoppable. Come, join the rise,” he concluded.
