Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the fifth National Conference of Chief Secretaries on Saturday, 27 December, in New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam. The gathering was aimed at bringing together the centre and state administrations to lock in shared priorities that will drive India’s overall growth.
During the forum, Modi highlighted that the discussions were “insightful,” stressing the need for continual reform and stronger performance standards across the country’s administrative machinery. He posted the sentiment on X, noting the breadth of governance topics covered by the chief secretaries.
This year’s conference ran under the theme “Human Capital for Viksit Bharat.” Sessions covered critical areas such as early‑childhood education, K‑12 schooling, skill development, higher education, and extracurricular enrichment. Participants also debated ways to streamline regulations at the state level, leverage technology for modern governance, and advance projects underway under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
The event, organized by NITI Aayog in partnership with Union ministries and state governments, seeks to cement a common roadmap that unlocks India’s full human‑capital potential.
