Sonu Sood says he feels “in love” with Bihar and is already working on a new film set in the state.
The Bollywood star told on Sunday that his connection with the land of his ancestors goes beyond the ordinary. “I’ve come back, and I will keep returning,” he added.
He also revealed that his next project will be a story rooted in Bihar’s culture and history. “The film is coming together, and I’m excited to start shooting,” he said of the upcoming production.
Bihar’s state elections are happening this month, with polling on November 6 and 11 and vote counting on the 14th. The contest will pit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) against the INDIA coalition led by Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Other parties, such as the Congress, the Communist Party of India (Marxist‑Leninist), the CPI, the CPM, and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikasheel Insaan Party, will also field candidates.
The big news is the entry of new political figure Prashant Kishor and his newly formed Jan Suraaj party.
When asked about the politics, Sood expressed his hope that the victor would bring progress to Bihar. “I just wish whoever wins, they make Bihar better,” he said.
Known for roles in Jodhaa Akbar and Simmba, Sonu Sood also made his directorial debut with the action thriller Fateh, featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.
Beyond cinema, Sood runs a charity club that focuses on education, skill development, healthcare and crisis relief, especially during the COVID‑19 pandemic. His humanitarian work earned him the Humanitarian Award at the 72nd Miss World Festival’s Grand Finale in Telangana.
