In Hobart on 13 December, Lizelle Lee powered the Hurricanes to their first WBBL title by blasting an unbeaten 77 in the final against Perth Scorchers. The Scorchers were kept to 137/5 after a tight bowling display, and the Hurricanes chased the target comfortably, reaching their goal with five overs in hand. Lee seized the initiative from the first ball, hitting three fours in the opening over, while Danielle Wyatt‑Hodge added quick runs to give the team a solid early lead. By the end of the second over the Hurricanes were 24–0, and no fightback materialised when Wyatt‑Hodge fell in the sixth over. Lee’s dominance continued, and Nat Sciver‑Brunt chipped in with timely boundaries to keep the chase manageable. The game turned decisively when Lee struck Alana King for consecutive sixes and then added more boundaries, pushing her to a half‑century that sealed the victory. Despite Sciver‑Brunt’s later dismissal, Lee remained unbeaten and set a new record for the highest individual score in a WBBL final. Perth had struggled early, their power‑play offering little rhythm and a top‑order collapse, with Katie Mack out for 17 and Beth Mooney dismissed for 33 by Heather Graham. Sophie Devine and Paige Scholfield attempted to accelerate the run‑rate, but the Hobart bowlers maintained control. With four overs left, the Scorchers were 106/4 and hoped for a late push, but a shaky final over prevented a competitive total. The Hurricanes finished on 141/2 in 15 overs, clinching a historic triumph for the team.
