Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said Friday that the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) landslide win in the Bihar assembly elections shows how strong Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership is.
Yadav was in Indore for a series of events and returned to Bhopal in the evening. He met reporters at the airport and praised the peaceful conduct of the polls in Bihar, saying that opposition parties tried hard to stir unrest but the NDA stayed focused on its work.
“People of Bihar answered the baseless attacks from Congress and the RJD,” Yadav told the media. “The NDA, under PM Modi, delivered on development promises, built new airports and re‑formed governance. That was clear to voters.”
The BJP’s campaign team in Madhya Pradesh had sent over 100 leaders—including Yadav, former CM Shivaraj Singh Chouhan and former home minister Narottam Mishra—to Bihar. They addressed more than 20 rallies and thousands of voters.
NDA’s victory in Bihar follows gains in Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi, and analysts say it could win as many as 200 of 243 seats. The result is a setback for the opposition alliance that had hoped to return to power.
BJP officials noted that the centre’s investment of more than ₹15 lakh crore in Bihar and the leader‑driven “sabka saath, sabka vikas” promise resonated with voters. Opposition leaders, especially Congress, were urged to examine why voters rejected their candidates.
