Hema Malini shares tribute visual which she dedicated to Dharmendra highlighting his evergreen appeal
Mumbai, Dec 13 (LatestNewsX) – Veteran actress Hema Malini honored her husband, the late actor Dharmendra, by sharing a special video on Instagram. The clip stitched together moments from Dharmendra’s films and was created for two prayer meetings she arranged in Delhi and Mathura. In the caption, she wrote:
“Special tribute to Dharam ji highlighting his evergreen appeal, his charisma, his immense talent and his tremendous, impactful presence in all his movies. This visual tribute was made for the two prayer meetings that I had arranged in Delhi and Mathura.”
Hema Malini and the Deol family held separate prayer gatherings for the actor, who passed away on 24 November 2025. The families have long chosen to conduct their religious and personal affairs privately, and the differing prayer events reflect traditional arrangements rather than any discord.
Dharmendra’s second wife is renowned for her deep spirituality and preference for quiet, faith‑based rituals within her close circle. The Deol siblings – Sunny, Bobby, and their extended relatives – observe their own customs and emotional traditions, shaped by their close family ties.

Dharmendra died at age 89. Born in 1935 in Punjab, he began his career in the early 1960s after being discovered through a nationwide talent hunt organized by Filmfare and Bimal Roy Productions. His rise to fame was swift, thanks to his charismatic looks, emotional depth, and effortless screen presence. He thrived in romance, action, and comedy alike. Notable milestones included Phool Aur Patthar, which established him as a leading man, and Sholay, where his portrayal of the witty, lovable Veeru remains legendary.
