Delhi Police’s Special Cell made a bold move early this morning in Kapashera, arresting two key suspects tied to foreign-based gangster networks operating in India. The duo—Aakash Rajput from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, and Mahipal from Bharatpur, Rajasthan—got caught after a tense encounter that highlights the ongoing fight against cross-border crime.
Aakash Rajput stands out as a major player in this underworld scene. He faces charges in several high-profile extortion and kidnapping cases connected to gangsters abroad. Back in July 2022, he allegedly took part in a shooting outside a hospital in Assandh, Karnal, following orders from overseas gangster Daler Kotia. More recently, he’s a prime suspect in a July 2025 kidnapping-for-ransom plot in Gujarat, where foreign-based Kirit Singh Jhala demanded a whopping Rs 100 crore from the victim’s family.
Rajasthan Police had even put a Rs 20,000 bounty on Rajput’s head. He reportedly teamed up with notorious figures like Jagdish Jagla and Abhishek Gaur, and worked under a bigger syndicate led by Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar, and Virender Charan. At the time of his arrest, police say he was close to securing a fake passport to escape the country.
Mahipal, his partner in crime, had faced arrest before in the same Karnal hospital firing case but got out on bail. He soon linked back up with Rajput and jumped into the international criminal network.
The raid didn’t go down without action—Aakash took a bullet wound to his lower body and rushed to the hospital for treatment. Mahipal surrendered without any injuries. Officers seized weapons and other evidence from them, strengthening the case.
This bust forms part of Delhi Police’s wider push to break up the Indian branches of these foreign-controlled gangs. These groups run everything from extortion rackets and contract killings to arms smuggling, all directed from overseas.
Authorities have started legal action against the pair, and they’re digging deeper. Expect more arrests soon as the investigation heats up.
