HM Amit Shah to visit Gujarat tomorrow to inaugurate development projects

Ahmedabad, Dec 4 — Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to kick off a three‑day tour of Gujarat on December 5, visiting a total of 25 public events across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Sanadar (Diyodar), Vav‑Tharad and nearby areas.

The trip, running from the 5th to the 7th, is aimed at boosting the cooperative sector, advancing urban development, expanding public‑welfare infrastructure and fostering cultural engagement throughout the state. Shah’s first stop will be at the GMDC Ground in Memnagar, where he will inaugurate the ‘Swadeshotsav’ organized by the Swadeshi Jagran Manch.

Later that day he is scheduled to attend the closing ceremony of NABARD’s Earth Summit 2025 at the Mahatma Mandir auditorium in Gandhinagar.

During his opening day he will also unveil several civic projects—including new public gardens, a yoga studio, a renovated primary‑school building, the LC‑11 railway over‑bridge, a sports complex under an under‑bridge, a primary health centre, and PNG gas‑pipeline connections in three villages. The day will conclude with the final ceremony of the Sansad Sports Festival and the launch of the Ahmedabad Shopping Festival.

On December 6, Shah will head to Banas Dairy in Sanadar (Diyodar), where he will lay foundation stones and open several new initiatives. He will also chair a meeting of the Ministry of Cooperation’s Advisory Committee, underscoring the Centre’s commitment to expanding and strengthening cooperative institutions across India.

The final day, December 7, will focus on major housing and infrastructure projects in Ahmedabad. Shah will inaugurate 861 EWS homes under PMAY in Thaltej and 350 homes under the Slum Rehabilitation Scheme in Nava Vadaj. Additional openings will include a public‑private‑partnership Oxygen Park, refreshed lakes at Shakri and Vastrapur, new community facilities, a mini‑sports complex, and various other public amenities. He will also release the Gujarati edition of “Challenges Inspire Me,” a book celebrating Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, before attending the Pramukh Varni Amrit Mahotsav hosted by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha at the Sabarmati Riverfront.
